DOME COATING SUPPLIES ARRIVE AT MSATT

7 Mar by Geoff McNamara

It may not seem terribly astronomical, but these products will be used to re-coat MSATT’s domes preserving them for at least another decade so the telescopes can get on with the task at hand. MSATT is grateful to two people: a parent (who prefers anonymity) who donated $1,400 for the materials; and Edward, manager of Boatcraft Pacific (based in Queensland).

The donation is so very generous and greatly appreciated. What made the deal even more helpful is Edward dropping the price by a third (to under $1,000) following his visit to MSATT in February. It keeps happening: when people see what MSATT is all about – teaching kids – they want to help. This was Edward’s contribution to the kids. So, thanks to both the donor and Boatcraft Pacific for their support!

Now all we need to do is get it out of the tin and onto the domes…
